Set the Motion (in a Parent-Child Hierarchy)

Every Deformer has a parent-child hierarchy of some kind.
Being familiar with this characteristic enables you a smoother operation of Motion Parameter settings.

Here we take up the motion of brow which has a lot of parent-child hierarchies.

A brow has an important role to express the feeling on the face, so variety of motions like “FORM”, “ANGLE” or “Motion in Vertical and Horizontal Directions” are needed.
If you try to create all these motions by deforming the drawable objects, you need to make following patterns;

Three patterns for “BROW_L_FORM”
Three patterns for “BROW_L_ANGLE”
Nine patterns for “BROW_L_X” and “BROW_L_Y”

Accordingly what you need to make is three x three x nine = 81 patterns in total for the whole brow motion.
As this must be too tough, instead you can make a Deformer for each motion to disperse Motion Parameters to work efficiently.

You better not to assign several Motion Parameters to a drawable object or a Deformer.
You may assign two Motion Parameters to one object, or three at maximum when it is really in need.
It is not recommended to assign more than four Motion Parameters, as this cause slow running.
※You can assign up to two Motion Parameters with Free version.

When dispersing three motions to drawable objects and Deformers, all you need to create is three + three + nine = fifteen patterns in total.
This is because of the characteristic of Deformer’s parent-child hierarchy, and it is recommended to have a look at the page of
Structure of Deformer (Around Eye Area) to understand the structure of Deformers.

Select the drawable object of BROW L and set the key value to “-1”, “0”, and “1” in “BROW_L_FORM” Parameter.

Make deformations to knit the brow when the value is “-1”, and to arch the brow when the value is “1”.

Then select “BROW_L_ANGLE” and set the key value to “-1”, “0”, and “1” in “BROW_L_ANGLE” Parameter.

Make deformations to rotate the brow to left for the angry face when the value is “-1”, and to rotate the brow to right to make the arched brow when the value is “1”.
Pay attention to make motions inside of the parent Deformer.

Next, select “BROW L LOCATION” and set the key value to “-1”, “0”, and “1” in “BROW_L_X” Parameter.

Move the brow inside when the value is “-1”, and outside when the value is “1”.
Pay attention to move the right brow to right (inside) when the value is”-1”, and to left (outside) when the value is “1”.

Finally, select “BROW L LOCATION” and set the key value to “-1”, “0”, and “1” in “BROW_L_Y” Parameter.

Make settings for the positions of the rest of six patterns to complete.
