How to Set Rotation Deformers

You can create Rotation Deformer when you select “Rotation” for “Types of Deformer” in “Create Deformer” window.


A new Rotation Deformer is placed in the middle of the canvas.

You can adjust the position of Rotation Deformer with the white point (as a handle) and the black point (as a pivot).


Adjust the position to be along parts

Here we create new parent Rotation Deformer of the character’s right arm, for example.
Click “Create Deformer” button while the part is selected.

Add a check mark in “Set to the parent of the selected object (curved/image).” check box in “Create Deformer” window.

 A new Rotation Deformer is placed in the middle of the canvas. 

When you try to drag the pivot (black point) of the Rotation Deformer, the child part moves accordingly.

When you drag the handle (white point) of the Rotation Deformer, the part rotates on a pivot.

When you drag the pivot while pressing [Ctrl] key, you can move the Deformer’s position with the part intact.

When you drag the handle while pressing [Ctrl] key, you can change the Deformer’s angle with the part intact.

When you drag the handle while pressing [Alt] key, you can adjust the handle’s length.

It is recommended to place a pivot around the joint, and the handle around the arm with Rotation Deformer.
