01. Texture Reposition A (Legacy)

※ After the update to Modeler2.1, this function is no longer supported and is provided in the user guides as a legacy method. please refer to Texture Reposition C for the most recent tools.

It is possible to move parts of the model on the texture file to another location, or into another texture file altogether.
To do this, you can use the Texture Reposition Tool A  explained below, or Texture Reposition tool B (in the next page)

    Using Texture Reposition (A)

【 STEP 1 】
From the [Texture] menu, go to → Texture Reposition (Legacy Method) → Texture Reposition A

【 STEP 2 】
The [Texture Repositioning Editor] window will open

【 STEP 3 】
Decide on the settings at the time of relocation,
from the settings at top-left corner of the window.
The default settings (shown in the image below) are the recommended settings.

  • Magnification
    Decides the size of the part after relocating it, to make a part smaller or bigger, change this number before proceeding to move it. 

  • Clear Texture Transfer Source Region
    When enabled: Cuts the part that is being moved and pastes it in the new location.
    When disabled: Copies the part that is being moved, and pastes it in the new location leaving it's original (duplicated) in the original location.

  • Overwrite Texture Transfer Destination Region
    When enabled: Overwrites anything below it, which erases anything that falls within the region of the polygons.
    When disabled: Overlaps anything below it, only pasting the moved object itself.

【 STEP 4 】
Decide on the part of the texture you would like to move.
Select the object by clicking it once on the canvas, or select it from the list on the left.

TIPS 【To Select Another Texture File
The numbered buttons at the top will show the texture files included in the modeler file.

【 STEP 5 】
Drag the selected object to where you would like to move it.

TIPS 【Move an Item To Another Texture
While the object is selected, click on the buttons at the top to go to the destination texture file (an existing one or a blank new one) and then double click the item to complete the moving process.

【 STEP 6 】
Once you've moved the item to where you would like it to stay, double click it.
It is also possible to confirm the relocation of the item by moving it to where you would like, and then clicking the button in the left settings labeled: [Apply Texture Change]

POINT 【Use It Carefully!】
Using this tool cannot be undone!
Please make sure not to accidentally overlap or erase parts!
If you have made a mistake while using this tool, please click on the [Cancel] button and start over.
Or you can use the Texture Reposition Tool C that is more up to date, as this page explains a Legacy (expired) tool.

【 STEP 7 】
Click on the [OK] button to confirm the changes.
You will be taken back to Modeler's canvas with your changes applied.

TIPS 【To Create A New Texture File
To create a new empty texture file, click on the button at the top-right of the window labeled [Generate Textures]

You will see a new texture button appear on the list of textures.
