Difference between PRO version and FREE version?
In the FREE version, there are limitations on functions, such as the number of parts category users can create, number of deformers users can place,
For more information, please visit  the comparison page of
In the FREE version, for standard usage, users are limited to making movements for one model per project.
Within the limitations, it would be difficult to apply special modelling features such as interchanging clothing or hand gesture variants.
Also, users do not have access to the blend function; a tool that improves work efficiency.
(The "Synthesize Corners" tool can be the substitute to some extent)

Guide image appears blurry
Guide image can improve its definition by changing the display mode.
On the top menu, go to [Show]  → [High-quality mode ] and then click the option.

Is there grid display?
On the top menu, go to [Show] → [Show the Grid ] and click the option.

I don't know how I should split the polygon
Start with placing vertices surrounding the drawing object.
For objects that are symmetrical, make the polygons as symmetrically as possible.
Although polygons work in triangular relation, it is wise to keep the vertices arrangement tidily in square positioning (approximately).
As you can always edit, add, or delete polygons afterwards, start with larger general pieces, and only increase fine subdivisions when you find need.
Also, there are sample models available to take reference.

Key value on the parameter (circle icon) is hard to set at
To set the parameter sharp at a key value, hover your cursor on the key value (becomes yellow) and press right-click.

My texture material is larger than 2048 px which is the limit of the FREE version
Reduce the size of your texture material to match the size 2048 x 2048 px.
If you want to save space by re-sizing individual parts, pick parts that are not the face, body, hands, or feet. Instead, pick the ones that are less important, such as the back hair.
On the canvas, you may re-scale a part by a numerical input. Select the drawing object, and press Ctrl + R.

New drawing object (texture piece) is automatically assigned to a deformer
When creating a drawing object, it will be automatically assigned to deformer specified in the "Deformer" field on the "Edit" palette next to the canvas.
If you do not want the any assigned deformer, first change to "Drawing Object" mode by clicking on the arrow cursor icon on the top menu. Then, select any black space on the canvas (so that you are not selecting any deformer).
Now, you may create a new drawing object with a "- a reference plane -" in the "Deformer" field, which means that the object belongs to no deformer.
(You may change the belonging deformer any time)

Is it possible to change the background color of the canvas?
Yes. You can access a color picker dialogue by clicking on the square icon in the bottom-left corner of the canvas palette. Pick a color to set the background color.
It goes the same for the texture edit screen.

I have done the up, down, left, and right angle, but the model cannot turn diagonally
You would need to also do the four diagonal angles.
However, if up, down, left, and right are already done, you may use the "Synthesize corners" tool to complete the rest for you.
Please visit here for further details.

Changing the number of divisions of the bezier of a "Curved surface" defomer
It cannot be changed.
Alternatively, create a new one that fits your needs to replace the current one.
For more information, please visit here.

Modeler and Viewer seems to display my model in different quality
Modeler and Viewer have different algorithms calculating model deformation, hence the visual result may not be the same. To reduce the error, match the number of conversion divisions between the parent and child deformers.

Cannot launch Live2D Viewer from "Tool" on the menu
Please update the version of your Live2D Viewer to one that is compatible with Cubism 2.0.
You may download one from this page

When I export the moc file, my 2048 px texture is not included
The default ".moc export" settings exports textures up to 1024 px.
You need to change the settings to get a 2048 px export.
At the export dialogue, there's a field "Export Target". Change the target to 2048 px.

Difference between PRO and FREE version?
The FREE version offers a max limit of 1280 x 720 px to video, GIF animation, and serialized still image export.
For further details, please visit comparison page of
There is nothing else different other than the export size.

Animator が正常に動作しない
Quicktime のトラブルが考えられます。
動画を読み込んだり書き出すときには、32bit 版を使って下さい。

Is it required to display Live2D's logo when using the FREE version?
It is not mandatory. However, if you do, we would appreciate.

Wrong audio material being played
The audio file's path may be including Japanese words (location or file name).
Put the file in a folder that is not in Japanese and browse the file from Animator.

What is an mtnb file? What is the purpose of it?
It is the binary version of mtn.
Incorporating motion in mtnb format would improve the loading speed than in mtn.

How should I decide on the fade-in / fade-out value?
1 second is generally suitable.
You may test the result in Viewer. If you find that there is an awkward pause between motion transitions, you may want to shorten the time (lower the value).
If you are making a scene for a video, fading is irrelevant, which you can ignore the fade values.
For further guidance on fade values, please visit here .
